Casimiroa edulis, the white sapote (Cas. edulis 1) (Cas. edulis 2), is a spreading tree, up to 18 m high, with palmate leaves and small yellowish-green flowers.

Use
The green apple-like fruit, about 10 cm in diameter, has soft sweet pulp that is eaten fresh or made into jam. It is a native of Central America. The leaves and bark are used medicinally to cure hypertension and rheumatism. The closely related Casimiroa tetrameria, also called white sapote (C. tetrameria 1), has palmate leaves with 5 leaflets and fruits like Casimiroa edulis .
